Our main goal for this blog is to promote and discuss traditional farming methods.

The idea to create ‘Till the Cows Come Home came about one evening in July of 2024. A couple small farmers were sitting around discussing just how much farming has changed over the last 40-50 years. When did most farmers decide to go from traditional farming to conventional farming? Why did we essentially eliminate the self-sustaining methods that farming relied on for centuries? The answer is relatively simple. Big Agriculture needed to invent new farming methods to make sure their business models stayed profitable. While this is certainly understandable from a business perspective, the unintended consequence has lead us to Big Agriculture feeding into Big Pharma. As a result, modern farming methods are now slowly making their way into small farms.

Our hope and goal is to create a space where we can discuss and promote traditional farming methods. Let’s make sure we don’t fall into the unsustainable trap of chemical farming. Most of us small farmers are, on average, doing 100 acres or less of ground. In order for us to stay profitable we must continue to educate each other on the countless benefits of traditional farming. Not only is this important for our small businesses, it is also important for our future farmers.
